Fancy Gap Cabins and Campground is open for the 2022 season from April 1 to November 1. We are the perfect place to relax, unplug and refresh with family and friends while you explore the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway. Choose how you stay. We offer:

13 (four pull through and nine back in) full hookup RV sites
6 one-room camping cabins
5 tent sites with water and electric
8 motel rooms

We are situated on 22 acres of rolling hills and woods with mountain views. There is free Wi-Fi that was upgraded in 2021. The bathhouse has 5 private bathrooms with showers. We are close to the Blue Ridge Music Center, Mabry Mill and all of the beauty, shopping, wineries, hiking, cycling and paddling southwest Virginia has to offer.

Amenities & Activities

Campsites include Wi-Fi, picnic tables, fire rings and charcoal grills. Guests and their pets can explore our walking trails and take advantage of hiking, hunting, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing in the area. For motorcyclists and bicyclists, FGCC is a perfect stop along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We heve laundry facilities. Active or retired military receive a 10 percent discount as well as groups with five or more reservations. If you book seven nights, pay for six.

Rules

Check in and out

Check in is 2 pm. Check out is 11 am. The fee for early check in or late check out is $10.00. Guest must call ahead to arrange either early check-in or check-out. The earliest check in time is noon. RV campers who arrive early may have to park at the nearby overlook. We do not have overflow RV parking.

Vehicle Policy

Registered guests must display the red vehicle tag issued at check in. People visiting registered guests must check in at the office, pay the $5 per day guest fee and display a blue guest pass on their vehicle. We have a small campground so golf carts, ATVs, scooters or any other motorized, off-road vehicles are not allowed. For the safety of all campers, we do ask that you abide by the 5.5 mph speed limit.

Pet Policy

We ask that pets be kept under control, on a leash and that owners pick up after them. There is a $10 per pet, per night fee for cabins and the motel. Fee does not apply to service animals but rules apply. Pets are not to be left unattended at any time. There is not a pet fee for RV or tent reservations.

Area Tips

Relaxing is the number one activity at Fancy Gap Cabins and Campground. For those who want adventure, the campground can be your base camp for enjoying all there is to do in the region.

Skyland Lakes Golf Course is a half mile away across the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Blue Ridge Music Center is 10 miles south of the campground and Cumberland Gap recreation area is just a few miles farther. North of us, enjoy Meadows of Dan, the historic Mabry Mill, Buffalo Mountain, Floyd, and Rocky Knob recreation area. FGCC is a half hour from the New River where you can enjoy a scenic walk or book a canoe, kayak, tubing or fishing experience with a local outfitter. Located in the Blue Ridge Wine region, you can spend a day tasting locally grown wines and craft beers. Don't forget that Mount Airy, the hometown of Andy Griffith, is just down the mountain.

If you like antiques and unique botique shops, make sure to visit the shops in Fancy Gap, Hillsville, Galax and the many mountain towns just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Book early for festivals like the Hillsville Flea Market, Mayberry Days, the Old Fiddler's Convention and Autumn Leaves.
