Expect soft sand and open beach camping with designated sites. Four-wheel drive is recommended due to deep sand in some areas. Pets are welcome (off-leash friendly), and the open range is great for activities like kite flying or drone use. Star-gazing, breathtaking sunrises, and sunsets enhance the experience. The La Sal National Forest is very popular for recreation. The Wasatch Plateau area of the national forest, where the park is situated, offers scenic drives through the Huntington and Eccles Canyons National Scenic Byways, also known as the Energy Loop. These forest byways wind over the Plateau from 5,000 to 11,000 feet.   From Skyline Drive there are several high-elevation lakes and streams that feature excellent fishing and camping, and the Arapeen OHV Trail System is popular with ATV enthusiasts.
