The park is popular maong people who love watersports, but also offers excellent trails and pathways for hiking, biking and horseback riding. The park is also relatively close to the Bosque Redondo Memorial and Fort Sumner.

There's also equestrian trails as well as a number of picnic tables, so whether you want to go galloping through the wilderness or hang out with friends over great food, there's plenty of space and picnic tables to make that happen!
