Created during the WPA era by Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC), the 1,610 acre park continues to serve as the city's premier outdoor recreational resource. The spring fed no wake lake's 80ft tall limestone faced dam is the hallmark CCC remnant along with many other stone features still in service.
