Quaint and beautiful, the town is home to equally great local parades and events throughout the year. Some local favorites include: the 56th Annual Stonewall Peach JAMboree and Rodeo, Fredericksburg Trade Days, 4th Annual Hill Country Food Truck Festival and the Live Pari-Mutuel Horse Racing. There's also excellent happenings like the Annual Hill Country Auto Swap Meet, Texas Mesquite Arts Festival Fredericksburg, Hill Country Indian Artifact Show and the Fredericksburg Food & Wine Fest 2017.  There's dozens of other activities for campers to take advantage of, and they're all washed in the culture, rural experience and southern hospitality Texas is known for.

Camping in Fredericksburg is an amazing treat, with a homey, small town feel and plenty of wide open spaces to enjoy. One of the most popular campgrounds is the Fredericksburg RV Park which is known for its excellent surroundings and close proximity to a number of great attractions. Among them, there's the Wildflower Ridge Alpaca Ranch, Wildseed Farms, Rockbox Theater and the Good Art Company Art Gallery for visitors to enjoy. Many head out to the park for tent camping, so if you like to sleep under the stars, don't hesitate to pause for a night or two at the lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park.

With its German roots and American influence, travelers can look forward to a diverse blend of local flavors, and an emphasis of fresh, organic ingredients. Some local favorites include the Auslander Restaurant, Old German Bakery & Restaurant, Mamacita's and Der Lindenbaum. There's also Otto's German Bistro, Vaudeville, Sozial Haus and Pasta Bella.
