College Station RV parks and campgrounds are spread around outside the city and there are several to the north of the metro area in Bryan as well. A majority of the area resorts are clustered on either side of Route 6, and some of the best camping in Texas can be found within a day’s drive of this region. (Popular camping destinations in the area include Madisovnille, Texas, near town and Schulenburg, Texas an hour or so to the south.)

Texas A&M University makes its home in Bryan-College Station, and has a huge impact on the local economy. Many of the city’s main attractions are tied to the University, and the nearby mighty Brazos River has lots of spots springing up along its banks running all the way to the Gulf. Check out the George Bush Presidential Library or take in a game at Kyle Field. If you’ve never seen the Aggie Marching Band, you’re in for a treat.

The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History allows you to explore the area’s natural history, up to the present day. For the kids, there’s the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley, which has hands-on and interactive learning experiences and exhibits.

Around College Station, there are lots of way to enjoy Central Texas’ unique natural landscape, including the Brazos River Valley. Head over to Lick Creek Park, where there are miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horsesback riding. The park is also a stone’s throw from the Texas World Speedway and Santa’s Wonderland. Closer to downtown are a series of interconnected parks and natural designations running along Wolf Pen Creek. The trails run from the outskirts of town in the Raintree neighborhood and the Texas A&M University campus to the west.
