This is classic American camping only a short drive away from the Peoria region. And on the way there, be sure to stop and visit bison at Wildlife Prairie Park.

Further out of town, in Utica, are Starved Rock Nature Preserve and Matthiessen State Park, side by side along the southern bank of the Illinois River. The former was recently voted the number-one attraction in the state of Illinois, and the latter has what many consider to be equally as impressive canyons, waterfalls, and foliage.
