Bathhouse needs work, was dirty & extremely hot. Spots are tight & very uneven.

Nice cabins and location for kayaking on the Tuckaseegee. The cleaning service for the bathrooms was very late each night I stayed in the campground. They arrived between 9 and 9:30 at night which disrupted my evening.

Definitely a campground that was best 30 years ago. But, you can see the improvements are being made. Literally the nicest bathrooms we’ve been in, out of almost 40 campgrounds in the last three months. Where are you?

Brenda Parsons

Basic and no real privacy but they are friendly and the grounds and bathrooms are clean. Lots of space for large groups. It does the job if you’re in the area.

Susan, the owner was very nice and even helped us out bringing us to the train station for our ride. We only had our motor home no car. Our dogs loved the running creek. Thank you Susan for your hospitality and ice cream whip. Lexie was a hoot🙃

It was the perfect place to unwind. Cabin was cleaned and the bed slept really good. People was nice so was the hostess. The TV didn't work in pavilion but that was ok.

The Carolina Canoe Club hosts their Week of Rivers the week of July 4th every year at Smoky Mountain Meadows. During this 9 day event there are several hundred people present at any one time. Sites are available for RVs (full hookups or electric with water). There is a dump station near the office. Sites are available for tents as well. The bathhouse is kept clean and hot water is present at all times even through the heavy load during Week of Rivers. There is a small covered pavilion with electricity. Games and toys are in a storage shed nearby. Ice and firewood are sold on site as are a washer and dryer. Alaska Creek runs through the campground and will lull you to sleep. The campground hosts are pleasant and very helpful.

The creekside sites down at the end by the barn are nice, especially on the back side of the creek across the bridge. Portapotties were clean. My reservation was a good idea, it was very busy that week because of the week of rivers event. Most of the sites lack privacy so don’t expect to have a secluded spot. There is a dump station by the entrance if you need that for your stay. Overall we were very happy and enjoyed relaxing by the small creek in the evening after a day on the river.

Loved this campground as long as we were near a picnic table. Particularly liked the coffee machine on the office porch. The bathrooms were exceptionally well maintained. Not too many bugs (well cared for landscape). Also appreciated the outlets where we could recharge our phones. A great experience! Thanks!

More wifi signage to download maps. I didn't know there was free wifi until a camper mentioned it. Lots of us have never driven in the mountains, nice to know we won't get lost:) I would recommend to a friend!
