Small Towne RV Park

Owner, Mel, was very friendly and helpful. He was also very informative of the local area. All needs were met.

As others have said, Mel’s customer service is the best. He’s dedicated to what he does. The RV center is very basic , but you add him makes the stay special.

Perfect full-hook up site for us. We stopped for one night as we were on rout to our ultimate destination. Mel was super nice and helped guide us into our site and hook up our rig. He also provided a summary of key places to visit in town along with supporting literature. The next morning we were up early to hit the road and found a Sunday paper on our steps. Certainly a no frills RV park but we felt safe, it met our needs and you can't beat the price. We would stay with Mel at Small Towne RV Park again.

This was a great stop. They helped us back in and hook up. Brought us a paper and reading material and since it was over 100 degrees walked around with freezee pops that evening. We can boondock, but it was nice to hook up for some AC and some extra friendly pets for the dogs.

As a solo female traveler I was not comfortable here. Slept with "one eye open and my protection loaded". Rough dirt road to enter, dirt with a little bit of gravel for a pad. It is in a sketchy residential neighborhood. FHU and good wifi. No other amenities. Drove to the next town 30 minutes for laundry and groceries.

Attempting to split the drive ahead of us into manageable increments I learned of this campground via Campendium. Upon entering the town of Terry, Montana it was a bit of a shock how poor it was and the campground looked somewhat unkempt and ratty. There was no obvious office in which to check-in, but after intruding into a campsite and asking a camper where the office was I learned the house across the street was where the owner lived. I was apprehensive of entering the yard where a dog was tied up and decided to return to the truck and make a telephone call. But the fellow camper then told me she would go get him. Mel was kind and accommodating. He showed us where to pull in and on what site and he proceeded to hook our electrical up. He adapted an fifty amp into a thirty amp which I could have done as I carry both fifty amp and twenty amp adaptors with my gear. I also had for the first time trouble with my awning. Mel also fixed that for me. One thing Mel couldn’t fix was the annoying I-94 noise that made it impossible to sit outside and enjoy the cool evening air. Not only was the roaring unbearable, the sight of all those clamorously loud trucks and tankers was annoying. There is a fine pioneer museum in downtown Terry as well as shops including knick knacks, coffee, and photography. The photographer Evelyn D. Cameron was also from Terry and her work was quite magnificent. She is buried in the Terry Prairie County Cemetery in Row F, Space 45, Lot 7. Terry town is a farming community bordering the Yellowstone River with a picturesque backdrop of the Montana Badlands. We were told that crossing over the Yellowstone River and venturing into those unbelievable hills and cliffs would provide a wealth of natural rocky architecture. We absolutely needed more than just an overnight stay to see the interesting things available to history buffs such as ourselves. A few of Custer’s wounded soldiers from the Battle of Little Bighorn are buried in marked graves down near the river but we didn’t have time to go see them. We did eat an early supper at Roy Rogers Bar Grill & Casino on Spring Street and were not disappointed. Four bars of ATT, sewer, water, and electricity were provided. Free cable too. But there was no shower room or restroom facilities. It is “bring your own shower” as Mel likes to say.

Everything was great except the water pressure was poor, appreciated the newspapers in the mornings.

Good for an overnight. The owner is kind, thoughtful and good to talk with. The RV park is fairly primitive but decently kept. WiFi, picnic tables, even a welcome mat!

Definitely no frills, But a great place for a night or two. pull thru sites, 50A power, so so water pressure, gravel site. Owner (Mel) very friendly and helpful. Met us as we pulled in, had area info for us, floor mat, news paper in the morning. We were there on July 4th, he had a cook out, games and fire works for the guests. Mel definitely has the hospitality to keep this at least the 4 star

Don't judge a book by its cover. Full hook up available. Mel was extremely helpful and shared his knowledge about Montana rocks. Highway noise was not significant, bathroom fan covered it.

Very unprofessional campground. The owner didn’t notify us that he gave away our sites. It took him several minutes to wander over to us. There didn’t appear to be an office but maybe there was. In all honestly, it was for the best. It wasn’t a campground in the literal sense. It appeared to be a small area that the owner had a handful of sites setup. Thankfully, the owner directed up to another location close by that was able to accommodate us for the night. I would not recommend this campground to anyone, especially anyone with children.

We needed a palce to stop as we headed out west from minnesota. My wife found this place online and said its right on the way and not far off the interstate. I must say was was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get in and get out with a motorhome pulling a jeep. the owner was super helpful and friendly and even showed my kids about Yellowstone agates. He brought us a little garbage can and a mat.

We needed an overnight place to stop in Eastern Montana. Small Towne RV Park, though small, and as he states on his website, is a "no frills" park, however, you will not find a nicer campground host. He got us settled into our site, brought a mat for our doorstep, and our own garbage can. In the morning, we found a Billings Gazette on our steps. We had full hookups and the best Wi-fi we'd had on our entire month-long trip, all for a very reasonable fee.

Everything was fine, and the campground owner was great! The nearest public toilet is a three block walk, if you don’t have one in your rig.

Small Towne RV Park is a hidden gem. At first blush, it may not look like much, but the customer service is world class! Being able to reserve via the internet wss the first plus. Next, the site manager was tremendously helpful to us when we arrived even though we got in late after dark. All services (full hookup) functioned perfectly including WiFi. And we received a free morning newspaper to boot, an unexpected and rare touch these days. The price cannot be beat. We are coming back again next season as ee transit to and from Yellowstone National Park.

For an overnight stay, this campground is great. The owner met us as we pulled in, set out a door mat at our steps, and brought us a small garbage can. Did I mention that he’s really nice.

This is a great RV Park, there are no facilities but do not let that stop you! The ground is gravel and compact, and pretty level, the host is amazing. And if you are a rock hound or interested in war history this is also a great area and the host will point out where to go. Great prices, and pull through sites.

This is a nice, small RV park. The owner is very helpful and available. We inadvertently left a storage bag with electrical equipment. The owner, Mel, called us to let us know. Lucky for us, we had not left town yet as we had stopped for breakfast and to visit the local gift shop, Prairie Unique. We were able to stop by the RV park on our way out of town to pick up our left behind gear bag. Thanks Mel! BTW -- don't miss the Roy Rogers Bar and Grill in Terry, MT. Great food and service. Owners Dawn and Terry are great hosts. The Dizzy Cafe is a great small town cafe for breakfast. Also, do not miss Prairie Unique gift store. Many Montana made products and "unique" gifts. If you are a fan of radio controlled aircraft, RC cars, or model kits, you'll love this place. Terry, MT was one of our favorite stops on our two week trip to Portland, OR, Mt St Helens, and back to Wisconsin. Everyone in town is friendly, helpful, and just plain nice. You gotta love Montana!

The park is small but was everything we needed. Mel was very helpful and welcoming.

Very nice RV park beside the Boulder River but worth paying for the pull through sites or river bank sites if you can fit. Very friendly owner/operator who was very helpful and welcoming. Worth a repeat visit if we come this way again.

Our host was very helpful and pleasant. He directed our back-in. A Sunday paper was left on our doorstep. There was sufficient room for our rig and second vehicle. It rained the whole time of our visit, so we did not go anywhere. There was true high speed WIFI. So many campgrounds advertise high speed internet which are unusable. Full hook-up with everything on the correct side of the coach and no extended cords or hoses needed. And it was only $25. Wow. The only negative was a trashy full-time neighbor.

Nice two day stay at this Park. The owner was very attentive, brought us a door mat and garbage can when we arrived and local newspaper the next morning. We will be back. Only $25.00 per night. They prefer cash.

Great little rv park

Great for a one night stay … electric, water & sewer you just can’t go wrong for the price. When you arrive the gentlemen is very helpful in assisting and brings a “welcome” Matt and individual garbage. All very thoughtful. I would stop again… not a luxury resort but great place for a night.
