About the Property
The former Mark Twain National Forest Ranger Station sits in the southeastern Missouri community of Fredericktown. The area is known for outdoor recreation and includes several state parks. A fun fact: because the site was a former forestry station, the Sawyer’s Landing property has every tree that is native to Missouri.

To preserve the history of the property, the original buildings, built in 1933, were renovated and repurposed. The ranger station now serves as a coffee shop and bistro. The post and beam shop has been expanded into an event venue. The firehouse was transformed into a tiny home, The Firehouse Loft. The root cellar now serves as the storm shelter, laundry, and bath facility for the tiny homes. The ranger house is now the Brubacher family home.

About the Owners
Ben and Erin Brubacher had a dream to create a space for a community to gather and connect through food, faith, and fellowship. In 2011, they discovered six acres and purchased what is now Sawyer’s Landing. They expanded the former ranger house into a home for their active family of 12, who can be spotted working at The Station or on construction projects throughout the property.
