The Rivernook Campground is located in the northern end of the Kern River Valley and is situated at the base of the southern range of the Sierra Nevada Mountains with thousands heading to the park each year because of its proximity to great natural attractions and local activities. Be sure to book early to reserve a great spot!

The park is within an hour of both the Giant Redwoods and the Mojave desert for great sightseeing, and both are notably two of the most visually appealing and unique areas in Central California. Kern River Valley is the meeting point of five different bioregions, boasting unique flora and fauna that draw in nature enthusiasts from all over the world. The campground is within walking distance of Canal Trail, and with the campground on 40 acres of riverfront property, RVers can enjoy long days spent exploring, hiking, fishing, mountain biking or even skiing the slopes at Alta Sierra.

Travelers can also enjoy great local dining at nearby restaurants, including the award-winning Kern River Brewing Company and The Starlite Lounge, a newly opened wine and tapas bar - both conveniently located just up the hill from Rivernook. There are also local attractions like the Kern Valley Museum, Kernville Saloon, and Dry Meadow Creek.

For those campers less interested in “roughing it” you can even end your day or start your morning with a refreshing hot shower at one of our two large restroom buildings, and enjoy water, sewerage and electrical hookups for guests' convenience.

Whether you enjoy city fun or wide open spaces while camping, you're sure to have an authentic west coast adventure while at the Rivernook Campground. See you soon!

The hiking here is amazing! I've never been to a camp site like this one, and I'm super happy my best friend and I took a trip out here. The topography can be super hilly at certain spots, but not too crazy for the average hiker or camping enthusiast. The greenery is super lush with lots of beautiful greens and really majestic looking trees. The river is awesome too; I especially liked to go jogging alongside it on evenings. There were quite a few RV sites, some were only partial-hookups but we chose one of the full-hookup sites and had no problems with it. A friend of mine did dry camping there with only a tent a few supplies and she said it was a really awesome experience for her; a few bugs but nothing outside the norm. Really nice site, will come back! - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
