Rio Vista Resort and RV Park is located in Kingsland, Texas. It is about an hour drive from Austin, and 1.5 hours from San Antonio. Kingsland has many different restaurants and bars ranging from waterfront Burger and BBQ places to Pizza Places to Mexican. About a 2 minutes drive away, is an HEB for all your shopping needs. We partner with 2 Jet Ski and Boat Rental companies in the area that will launch the boat for you and pick it up when you are done. We are also a 20 minute drive from Marble Falls, which is a great place for antiquing and shopping. It also has numerous restaurants, wineries and breweries. Rio Vista Resort and RV Park is a great place to spend your vacation!

We had the best time at the Rio Vista Resort. We rented an RV Site #32 for our Imagine Grand Design RV. The park is right on the water and since our stay was not on the weekend and in April prior to the prime Summer Season it was not crowded at all. The park has nice shady spots, as well as sunny ones and full hookups. The park was clean with plenty of concrete docks to fish or swim off of and my husband caught 7 bass while we were there. They have plenty of amenities for families to enjoy. A playground for the little tots, a little mini putt-putt, Rec Hall with a pool table, ping pong table, pool and hot tub, and splash pads for the kiddos. So, if fishing is not your thing there are other activities for the family. They also have public restrooms and showers, and a laundry for those wanting to stay for a longer time, or do not have a shower they use in their camper. They also have a boat launch, with docks along the waterfront. I really like that they have cottages to rent as well, so if you have family members who don't camp, they can rent a cottage and be close by. It is only about 19 minutes over to Marble Falls where one of the best cafes in the area exist in the Blue Bonnet Cafe. It is a nice area and the family running the campground are so nice and welcoming. I would highly recommend it to any family wanting to have a rental on LBJ, and I know we will be back. It's not a very big park, so we didn't end up using our bikes that we took, unlike a state park where you have plenty of space, but it is a nice area and well maintained. Highly recommend it!

There was construction next door and the cable was disconnected by a contractor’s tractor clearing the land. The RV part was not as “resort” as the photos show. We put up a tent for our older son and his wife not knowing tenting wasn’t allowed but on a cold rainy weekend the manager gave us permission to keep it up..

I stayed at Rio Vista over Memorial Day weekend and it was great. The staff was friendly and the park had lots of trees, grassy areas and barbecue pits with fantastic views of Lake LBJ. They have the own boat ramp which was nice, and the pool and water trampoline were a hit with the kids.

Many full timers make this RV park their home. They were friendly. We took our 37 ft travel trailer and had no problem parking it along with our 2 wave runners on one site. Many people parked their boats on their sites so it can get crowded. Older facilities with a small putt putt area and small splash pad. We did not visit the pool. Office staff weren’t very welcoming and couldn’t find our reservation at first. Beware of the boat ramp...it is extremely slick and my husband slipped and fell on his back trying to get our wave runners hooked to the trailer. Water is extremely rough and made it hard for people to launch/load/dock boats and Jet skis.

Sites in the center of the circle should be covered with something like crushed granite because now when it rains they are just muddy not grassy. They should also be marked more clearly. Othrwise a fairly nice park.

We didn’t stay long enough to utilize all the amenities - didn’t get the chance to walk the resort to see the entire park. The sites were decent size (not stacked like cord wood like a lot of RV parks do) though RVs were back-to-back and offset some. People were friendly.

I still time staying at this park on 4th of July weekend. It was nice and had a pool which was a little small. Kids took it over so we couldn't get in. All else was great.

Had a lot of fun. Just need to work on the trampoline area. Didn't t seem stable and too hard for kids to get to. Other than that it was a great experience and would love to return

This is a really nice resort to visit. At first I was impressed by how friendly the employees were and how everything in the park was so nicely maintained. Not only was everything very presentable but there was so much to do! I loved the array of activities they offered and how long it took for my family to decide on what we were going to start with at first. It was a beautiful location that was very close to a shopping center and the be route was so stunning I didn’t want to stop riding my bike, I just wanted to keep seeing the beautiful landscape and surrounding area. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
