Raymond House Fine Dining and Camping

STAY CLEAR OF THIS CAMPGROUND AND VENUE! Where to begin, this place is absolutely horrible and disgusting. I'd never step foot on the property or the Venue again! This place is unsanitary and so run down. The picture shown is obviously NOT what Raymond House Event and Campground is. There are homeless Tents, old RVs parked here. Big pot hole that hadn't been repaired in over a year. Please do not waste your time nor money coming to this place. If you do, ensure you have a written contract and before signing have a lawyer take a look at it. Let's talk about the venue for a second: smells like death-mold, mildew, dirty tables, chairs, decore, table cloths and chairs covered in stains and not white. The decorations inside cannot be taken down or removed. Don't want to use what they have, that's too bad, you have to and are charged for it anyways. Mopping with simply green won't work, the nose knows what's disgusting: a trash can that had something molded in it w/flies and wasps in it. Rat droppings in the refrigerators that the owner expected us to put food in-nope!! Pet urine because dogs are allowed inside the Venue and they're allowed outside to roam freely too. This is a rip off place. Bride and Groom paid $1,400 and Matron of Honor paid an additional $350. Save your time, money, and go somewhere else for your special day, it isn't worth it.

I forgot to add that the picture here is NOT this place. I lived at this campground for several months and there's NOTHING like that anywhere near here.

Where do I even begin? We came to the campground in March, when we had to relocate to the area for health reasons. Our spot was to include water and 30amp electric. Our spot sat in the full sun and was surrounded by a line of shrubs and trees. The whole line was FULL of trash and garbage, which my fiance picked up, sorted and recycled. Never asking for anything in return. Once the summer heat came in, we started having power surges. It would shut off our a.c. unit, causing our RV to heat up to over 90 degrees and at times we couldn't even get a fan to work. It wasn't just the a.c. either. EVERYTHING would cause surges. A phone charger, a coffeemaker. It didn't matter and it also didn't matter how little you were trying to use either. With the excessive heat, some of my medications melted and we lost over $200 in food from our refrigerator not staying on. While all of this was becoming a battle for us, the owners niece, Theresa, felt it was necessary to confront me over a handful of strawberries I picked from the weeds behind our lot. She told me I was stealing!! No, it wasn't a garden, it was an overgrow thickets of weeds and brambles. If anyone is stealing anything here, it would be the person with their hand out, taking $400 a month from someone and not following through with what's promised. I understand it when a business is growing older and needs updating. I understand that it takes time. However, give a discount, offer to keep spoiling food in your commercial refrigerator, keep in touch with your customers and let them know what your plan is. Do NOT continue taking full rates, avoid the subject, saying you "just don't know what" you're going to do, tell your customer if it's too hot, "it's called the store", suggesting a person leave their dog to overheat, while loitering somewhere. You don't tell your customers, "you people need to learn how to be patient!", when they tell you two MONTHS later that their is still a huge problem. Apparently, we are not the only ones upset here, as there is at least one other person complaining on Facebook about this same issue. You want to know how they handle bad reviews? They decide to point a finger at someone else, blame THEM and kick them out. Yes, the owner actually sent a longtime, resident camper, to our spot and told him to kick us out, because it had to be me who was complaining outside of the park. It wasn't, but it is now! At the moment, they appear to be sinking everything into a barn and tiny storage shed, in hopes they can rent it out for weddings, instead of fixing the lots where people spend between $400-$500 a month to call "home". The people who actually keep money coming in for them on a steady, month to month basis. In a nutshell.....it's all about the money. Would I recommend this place to anyone? Absolutely not!! I wouldn't recommend them for ANYTHING. Weddings and events included. If this is how they treat their residents, imagine how they will treat YOU?
