This is a great place if you're in the mood to relax. There's no pool, clubhouse or even an office. Dan runs the place from offsite but he's always available. The sites are fairly level and the hookups are convenient. Many of the "campers" are permanent working residents. The mountains surrounding the campground are beautiful. There's a home next door with horses. Pisgah highway is a beautiful ride and Looking Glass Falls is about 15 minutes away if you want to take a dip. Town is also bout 15 minutes away. Asheville a little farther. If you need "glamping" amenities, this is not the place for you. If you want to relax for a few days in a not-too-fancy campground...enjoy!

It's a no-frills park which we liked. There are a number of long-term/full-time campers who were friendly and quiet. You have a great view of the mountains with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We stayed for 2 months, and this was our second time to stay here.

Campground Response

Thank you, Hope to see you next year

This was a beautiful and peaceful space nestled at the foot of the Pisgah Mountains and Blue Ridge Parkway. The scenery was breath taking. The campground was small, peaceful and quiet! The grounds were well maintained, developed just enough for a cozy space without ruining it with a commercial landscape. The owner/operator, Dan O'Kelley, lives within earshot and always pleasant and helpful. A true southern experience!

Campground Response

Kim, I appreciate the nice review. Hope you can come again. Dan

This campground is a gem! Even more so if you ride, because the camp sits at the base of a 5 mile climb to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The view from our site was awesome, as we could see Mt Pisgah and a small section of the Parkway. The owner, Dan, is very pleasant and helpful. The sites are good size with full hook-ups. We have Verizon, and we had a good signal. Wifi is provided but was spotty. Maybe due to a lot of cloud coverage the last few days we stayed. We would absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful site, close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. This was a quick two-night stop on a longer trip and the campground was just right.

Everything we needed to stay in the mountains and enjoy our RV. You will need an RV with shower and toilet. Management was very friendly and helpful when we got there. There will be a lack of phone service if you have AT&T. A map of the area would be helpful.

Campground Response

Thank you Joe.

Had a great time there! My main interest was hiking, sightseeing and just getting alway from everything. This place was the perfect fit for me. The owner Dan was very helpful and friendly. He gave me some good recommendations for hiking. The campground is small and built on the side of a hill. No camp store, bath house, pool, playground etc. Which is fine for me I didn’t need any of them and with such a low cost for staying there I knew that I wasn’t paying for them. I would definitely come back again!

Campground Response

Thank you Jerry.

Owner is very nice and helpful. Small basic campground with FHUs, spacious level sites, and pretty views. The only negative is that the house on the hill has two (friendly) dogs that were allowed to roam. They kept coming into our site to visit, which would set our dogs off barking. I even had to clean up after them a few times.

Pisgah View RV Park was the perfect location for my fiancée and I to enjoy our week. It’s located about 20-25 from minutes from downtown Asheville, and only a 10 minute drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you’re looking for a quiet place to stay for a couple days or even a week with beautiful Mountain views all around then look no further. Mr Dan is a wonderful owner who is very accommodating. It is mentioned on their website, but as a heads up, the cell phone service is spotty. Only US Cellular and Verizon work there. The plus side is that there is free WiFi, just ask Mr Dan for the log in and password. We will be passing through Asheville again on our adventure as full time RVers and will be back to Pisgah View!

Campground Response

Thank you for your review. I sure hope to see you again. Safe travel. Dan

Great small, quiet CG located right at the base of Pisgah National Forest. Full hookups were new and worked extremely well. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is my site wasn't wide enough to set the picnic table alongside my motorhome. The roads in are gravel and pretty steep and narrow. We arrived late and had a difficult time maneuvering our 43' MH to our site. We actually got our rear tires off the road on one the turns and got stuck in the mud. The owner is a great guy and had met us at the entrance. He helped me get maneuvered out of the mud and into our site. The only real negative for us was the barking dog that lived across the road. We would have had no problem getting to our site during daylight hours. The owner, Dan, was one of the nicest people we've met in our travels.

So all the Asheville RV parks were booked (Fall colors season) and we found this place had openings. And we were super happy being out in the countryside at this quiet lil park. It’s only 17 min. from Asheville and the Biltmore but just 5 beautiful, slow, curvy miles and 2500’ up to the Blue Ridge Pkwy and many waterfalls to explore up there. (No trailers up that road leading to the BRP but the winding road up to it starts just beyond the Park). It’s a pretty drive, or a great climb/decent on a bicycle. **Come into the park from Asheville/Candler NOT the BRP if you have a trailer or big rig. The RV park is kind of on a slight hill and therefore the sites are terraced with a gravel road and site pads. It’s not flat or smooth but totally doable. Could use some arrows or site map to direct better into the sites if Dan isn’t around. The site layout is such that two rigs go in the same very long stretch making up two spaces. The first rig could just pull thru. If a second comes in, the electrical/water is oriented for them to drive straight in behind the first rig and then maneuver your truck (for 5’rs and bumper pulls) out of the spot via the grass. Or you could go back to back and run your utilities under your rig. All types of RVs were coming and going just fine. Dan, the owner was super friendly and low key. Cell signal was very poor. We used our booster and got a stronger Verizon signal. There’s wifi too but we did not try it.
