To ensure everyone enjoys a peaceful night's rest and enjoy our beautiful night sky we kindly ask that all outdoor lights be turned off and quiet time observed between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Please turn off all outdoor lights by 10:00 PM Use only soft, low lighting if needed for safety Interior RV lights are fine as long as they don’t shine into neighboring sites Enjoy the stars and the peaceful night sky! Things to do near Phoenix Mountain Campground

*  Lansing Park (- 2.2 miles) Walking, Biking trails and trout fishing.
*  Ashe County Farmers Market (- 9.2 miles)
  • Mount Jefferson (~12 miles) Hiking, picnicking 
  • Ashe County Cheese (~ 9 miles) Ashe County Cheese was started in 1930 by the Kraft Corporation, click the link to read more.  Open year round.
  •  Ashe county has some of the best trout fishing in the hole state of North Carolina. You can usually find some fish willing to bite year around. Less than a few miles from the campground are 2 of the most popular creeks to fish Big Horse Creek, and Helton Creek. It's not uncommon to catch a few casting a line behind the campground in the river.
  • Virginia Creeper Trail (~54 miles) spans 34 miles of moderate terrain between Abingdon and Damascus, Virginia. Most riders start in Abingdon and enjoy a scenic downhill ride to Damascus, where several bike shops offer convenient rental services. These shops typically provide shuttle transportation to the Abingdon trailhead, allowing you to ride back to Damascus where you started. Damascus is approximately 1 hour and 11 minutes drive time from the campground
