Parrie Haynes Ranch Equestrian Center is settled along the Lampasas River on about 1600 acres of Hill Country terrain. West Fort Hood borders our northern side. The acreage is teeming with natural wildlife and native plants with trails that wind through rolling native prairies, pastures, cedar/oak trees, and crystal clear streams. The Priddy Cabin was built here in 1859. Other homes were scattered across the ranch and have only foundations remaining. Please be careful and respect our heritage. Visit the Parrie Haynes Ranch Museum in the Clubhouse (not big but a labor of love for our history). Families welcome!

A full service campground located in Central Texas. The main camp is about 24 acres out of 1600.  Currently, there are 40 complete sites with 30 & 50 amp electricity, water, and pens at individual sites! We have 86 pens and a few corrals. There is a half size arena, round pen, and a fun obstacle course for you and your equine to enjoy. The footing is a combination of sand, caleche, and rock.  My mule is not shod but if your animal is not used to this terrain, I would advise shoes or boots. Keeping Texas Trails open for Equestrians, Hikers, Trail-Runners, and Mountain Bikers.

Once again, Ona and Parrie Haynes did not disappoint. The weather was nice, trails were easily accessible, and Ona makes you feel welcome.

Took some young horses to get some miles on them. Nice place to ride, but lots of country to cover. The camp set up was nice.

I have stayed at Parrie Haynes Equestrian Center many times, and in many of the various cabins, and also camped with my horse. I love the entire facility, trails, the people.. it is by far one of the nicest Equestrian camps anywhere. However my stay in the Cowboy Cabin was not as good as some others.. This is a very old site on the property, but it needs some care. Microwave did not work, was really old,; front porch door would not latch; beds had no covers of any kind.. I know to bring my own sheets, etc, but for the money for two nights, it was a disappointment. It needs Western art, rustic furniture, nicer Western rugs on the floor; maybe a mirror would also help for guests. just generally needs sprucing up.. It should look like an old historic cowboy camp, not just an old building that no one cares about.

Just spent 2 nights stayed in #40 (the bulllet). Had a wonderful time. Great ride and loved the little turnout next to the bullet.

We loved our horse camping and trail riding experience at Parrie Haynes for a few days in October 2024. The trails we rode were mostly moderate with some short, steep rocky sections. We so enjoyed meeting Ona and her wonderful camp hosts! Highly recommend Parrie Haynes!

very clean large camp ground. Plenty of shade trees, solid panels. Wash rack with great water pressure, round pen and riding ring. Obstacle course with plenty different challenges. Water and electric hook up. The trails are very well marked, with some fun findings on the trails. Rocky so shoes or boots are a must. I gave it a 4 star only because there is no trash dumpster, you have to take your trash with you, and no dump station. There is a vault bathroom super clean and a solar powered hot water shower, also very clean. Ona the owner, and Carol the camp host are friendly and helpful.

Awesome-as usual!!! We stayed on the 4th of July, and although it was plenty hot, there was more than enough shady pens and pads and the swimming cistern is wonderful!

Fun place. Well maintained. Pleasant accommodating owners. Just wish they could control the weather. Good part of our ride washed out literally by rain. But still nice time. That weekend, we had musicians to entertain us and a large covered porch for shelter from the rain, a great BBQ meal prepared by owners, I think. Really good food. And of course, commeradery of other riders. That weekend was Market Days too, lots horse gear for sale. So if weather gave you the blues, we women could "shop away" our doldrums. Thanks again, Anna, for a fun time inspite of the weather.

Parrie Haynes is in my top two places to go camp and trail ride! We go several times over the year. Ona has provided a fabulous place to stay and ride the trails which you have miles and miles of. A trail riders treasure!
