Onion River Campground has sites available for Instant Book. When you select Instant Book, your reservation will be automatically approved.
Any non-Instant Book sites will still require campground approval.
Located in Plainfield, Vermont, Onion River Campground has a unique layout. Tree-lined sites along the river create a more social atmosphere than a conventional campground. There is beautiful nature here and the amenities you need. There is a great river access for fishing, swimming, tubing, and wading. If you are looking to escape to the great outdoors then this is the place for you.
Camping at Onion River is respectful, and kind, and we generally have loads of fun. Good people, gardens, walking trails, and picnic tables, are just a few of the things to look forward to. Open May-October. Check-in after 2 pm. Checkout at 12 pm. See you soon!

These sites include power (either 30 or 50 AMP) and water at the site. Some sites have a septic hookup, but most do not. We have a dumping station for use included in the price. WiFi is available only at the Camp Office.

Tent sites include the use of the bath house which has showers and toilets available. No power and water at the individual sites. WiFi is available only at the Camp Office.

Due to Vermont State law, firewood cannot be transported more than 50 miles from the campground in order to decrease the spread of invasive insects. The campground sells firewood for $8/bundle and $20 for 3 bundles.
No idling vehicles. No driving over 10MPH, STRICT. Tow-in guests must possess their tow vehicle on site.
Quiet hours 11 pm to 7 am. No guard dogs or excessive barking. Supervise and clean up after your dog. Play safe and respect others. No hard drugs, excessive alcohol use or underage drinking. No tarps. No clotheslines overnight.
1 RV, 4 people, 2 pets, 2 vehicles. Please note that abandoned vehicles will be towed away at the vehicle owner's expense.
