Meteor Crater

Overview

The Meteor Crater and campground is at the world’s best preserved meteorite impact site. Located just minutes from Interstate 40 in Northern Arizona near Winslow, the crater is the breath-taking result of a collision between an asteroid traveling 26,000 miles per hour and planet Earth approximately 50,000 years ago. And as a result, the site sees hundreds of visitors each year. Besides visiting the site, campers can astronomy talks and exhibits, and aside from the expansive outdoor desert for hiking and ATV riding, campers can look forward to the Wolf Den Gallery, Old Trails Museum, Santa Fe Station Golf Course, Jack's Canyon Bridge and the Winslow Residential Historic District. Local parks are especially popular, and many travelers head to the Homolovi State Park, McHood Park and the Winslow City Park for hiking, biking and sunset viewing. And of course, the town is known for a number of attractions like the 911 Remembrance Garden, Meteor City Trading Post and the Standin' On The Corner Park. There's something for every type of traveler to enjoy. 

Amenities at the park include: a playground, pet area, recreation area, water, restrooms, showers, sewerage, WIFI, 30/50 amp sites, tent camping, pull thrus and big rig access. Hope to see you soon!
