JMA Campground is located about 15 minutes west of Riverton, Wyoming.

Outstanding views of the Wind River Mountain Range and the Owl Creek Mountain Range. We do not have trees or green grass - bring your own shade. LOL

We have 30 and 50 amp RV sites (each site has water) along with primitive tent sites. Amenities at the park include WiFi, fire pits, firewood, shower and restroom facilities, picnic areas, trash services and a RV dump station available for $10. Visitors can take advantage of the various outdoor activities such as basketball, hiking, biking and stargazing.

Our campers enjoy our quiet solitude - we're not located along a busy noisy highway! Jim and I established our place in 1983. We produced team ropings and barrel racing jackpots for nearly 40 years - we no longer produce rodeo events (due to health). In 2017, we decided to share our property with campers - we have cherished each and every moment - we have made so many friends!

Absolutely wonderful! Perfect for us & our three "fur-babies". Paulette is the perfect hostess, very friendly & always waves. We stayed for over a month & already planning to come back in the spring. Just can't praise this place enough.

This RV park was fine. Paulette met us and got us set up and everything was good. The WiFi was very strong. Would definitely recommend it.

Lovely, I enjoyed the open land, options to tent wherever I want, the warm welcome, and the peace and quiet. Gorgeous sunset, sunrise colors are the best. Nice bathroom and shower.

A fantastic location with lovely views of the mountains and spectacular stars at night. Simple but perfect and clean facilities. Paulette was very welcoming and helpful in finding me the best spot for my tent. Thanks for a lovely stay.

A quiet place surrounded by the big open sky. The prairie dogs were popping all over. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing. Sometimes it was quite windy but very welcome as it helped beat the unseasonal heat. I stayed 2 weeks and I work from home, I watched the comings and goings of others tent and RV campers. Paulette was a kind host and made sure all my questions were answered. Definitely worth the time to stop and enjoy. I wish I'd gotten into town a little more but I don't have a tow vehicle yet.

We stopped here to resupply before Escapade in Rock Springs. Paullet met us & showed us to our site. It was great having water & elec after boondockng for a couple of months. Basic, very quiet campground at a reasonable price. 20 min. to Walmart.

Paulette was a great host showing us around the property and making sure we were well taken care of. The property is spread out and we had an area all to ourselves. This was a good little overnight stop on our way to the Grand Tetons. We were greeted by Griz the labradoodle who was very relaxed and friendly. Not a lot of amenities there but a quirky fun place and we would go back again.

A beautiful place to stay in Central Wyoming. Jim and Paulette are exceptional hosts. Located outside of town so sunsets and the night sky are incredible. Highly recommended.

I loved the peace and quiet. I was there when no event was scheduled, and luckily, despite all the rain Wyoming is having, the ground was somewhat dry. I'd stay again if the opportunity arises.

Campground Response

Thank you for staying with us - we appreciate it very much. We no longer put on rodeo type events. I got a wild hair to have a Flea Market type of event with various vendors, food, campfire and a jam session. We were hit hard by a big rainstorm - so I canceled the event.

What an interesting campground experience! Paulette & Grizzly (the poodle) warmly welcomed us, and showed us to our spot. Electic & water was readily available, and we had a very quiet stay, enjoying the Wyoming sunset. Campfire rings were available, and dump station. Even had several AirBnB choices available. The horses, and donkeys were just across the fence waiting to get their ears scratched. Upon leaving, Paulette caught up to us, and had a memento for us to remember our stay. Great place, and great host.

The website describing the RV park is exactly what you get. The view was spectacular and we enjoyed the advantage of not being in an RV park right off the highway which most tend to be. We had good water and 50 amp power. While it's just a big dirt lot, the slot was level and very "homey" feeling. The price was nice too! Would stay there again!

This place is great, much more laid back than a lot of the other campgrounds we’ve visited. Glad we stopped here for a night on the way from Yellowstone to Mount Rushmore. Very kid and dog friendly.

This is basically a fairgrounds/rodeo site in a large gravel parking lot in a 1000 acre hayfield. They actually hold rodeo events here. It’s tolerable for one night. On the plus side, there was a decent flush toilet and a single shower. There was water and electric, as well. No sewer hookup. Maybe a dump station. There are about 10 sites but no visible site numbers. We had no on-site communication from the owner. Another camper shared that she had received a txt to park at any open site. Never saw the owner. On the plus side, the 360 view of the western sky was awesome. It’s a place to hole up for one night on the way to somewhere else.

Campground Response

I'm sorry that you didn't have a good experience. We are usually here. We had to run to Utah to pick up our new camper. I do all of the driving, because my husband's health is very poor. I tried to communicate with everyone, but it's very difficult to text and drive (especially pulling the new 5th wheel camper). I noticed that some of my text messages did not go through to you (while driving in no cell service areas). We do not have events at our arena. We simply share our space with others. We have an RV dump available. Our new RV site numbers just arrived - our son designed them. They were on the porch, when we arrived home. Almost everyone enjoys our hospitality, our wide open spaces - most say they enjoy how quiet, save and private it is.
