Views were amazing! This time of year there wasn’t anybody around which is perfect for us!

This is a nice campground and it was very quiet during my stay, for a few days after Labor Day weekend. The bathrooms were nice and clean and seemed fairly new, although this is the first campground I've been to where you must pay for a shower. I had no issues during my time there so I never saw the owner. Overall I would recommend Jackman Landing and would certainly book a return trip. Next time I'll bring my kayak.

Campground Response

Hi John, thank you for the 5 stars and informative review, it really helps us tremendously and helps others understand our campground from a travelers perspective. Jennie the manager does live onsite and she's around most days but nit always seen because we are a self check-in campground. The showers are coin operated only because we are a remote town with alot of remote camps in the area so we give them a place to clean up when they are in town and they appreciate that. I didn't feel it's our campers responsibility to take that cost on so they could use it for free along with our guests. We have great water pressure so or RV campers have the ability to choose where they want to shower so it's mostly tent campers that don't have the option and have to pay for a shower. I'm very happy you liked our place and I hope you get a chance to come back so I can meet you. We look forward to hosting you again in the future. Sincerely, -James Welch Owner

Very well maintained, clean, comfortable, and easy to check in and out. We had a wonderful time relaxing and had everything we needed already at the cabin! Will definitely be booking again in the future!

Bathrooms were all nicely redone. Showers are $2.00 for 5 min. same with washer and dryer. I was a little disappointed as I was trying to make reservations and was in a bad area but when I called they told me I had to make reservations on line. When I did it, I still didn't have great service so when i tried to pull up the map it wouldn't let me. I wanted a single site but whenever I put in my camping equipment, it said nothing available, so when I booked I ended up with a family site which was $75 instead of $45, after I booked it said a smaller site was available but wouldn't let me switch, again because of bad service. However, the area of Jackman is a very beautiful spot with some nice loops to see the country and do some fishing. Moxie falls is well worth the hike in.

Since registration for a campsite is not possible using the telephone and only possible by internet and there is no internet in town, we had to drive 20 miles until we found internet. The campsite we selected was advertised as $25 but the final tab was almost $40. We won’t be coming back.

Campground Response

We do take reservations all the time over the phone if someone is in the office to answer your call and not working on the grounds. You could have used the wifi we have very good internet and the password is right on the office door. Says right on our website where the advertised pricing is "Base pricing (varies based on availability) as you probably noticed we were very full and had limited availability. Plus like any other campground there are taxes and fees associated with every reservation. Sorry you couldn't figure that stuff out

I would stay again. Did not seem to be staff on site but since I had site number I pulled and hooked up. Not many cable channels. Great shade trees and liked being on the river. clean and quiet.

My wife and I loved the location and the bathroom facilities. Our site was right on the river and while it was open, the large trees on the site provided shade. We watched many birds fly and float by down the river. While it was raining when we showed up the site does have some drainage issues that end up leaving the rv pad soft, causing my wife to go above her shoe into the muddy gravel. Our main issue is how poorly the power and water hookups are laid out. This caused the occupants of the neighbouring tent site to run power between our trailer and picnic table. Our only non campsite issue was the seasonal Quebecers who for being 45-60 years old felt the need to sing awful karaoke and just yell for no reason. But it seemed to stop by quiet hours every night. If we’re back in the Jackman area again we’ll probably stay again.

Endroit parfait pour un court séjour.

The campground gets 4/5 but the bathrooms, hands down, are THE BEST bathrooms at any campgrounds I have ever stayed. I'm a tent camper and as the face of campgrounds across the country continues to change to accommodate giant boomer travel trailers & RVs, the quality tent camping sites wane. I did like the sites here, no big rocks or pea gravel, just some nice grassy expanse. Loved it and I'll likely be back longer next summer when we are in Jackman again

We stayed at Jackman Landing Campground at a tent site (T5) on a Sunday and Monday night in mid July. We had one tent for 3 people. The site provided a picnic table, fire ring, and a post with an outlet and water. The campground was very quiet the whole time with only a couple other people staying at other sites. We never even saw anyone from the office. There are a dozen or more campers scattered around the camp ground. I assume those are seasonals, but they were mostly not occupied while we were there. Reserving a site online was easy, which we did on the drive up to Jackman. The "check-in" process said to go strait to our site (no need to check in with a person). The bathroom building is nice inside, renovated circa 2021-2022, I believe. The showers are coin-operated ($2 in quarters for 5 min). Here are a couple considerations. The ground around T-5 looks to be quite low. It's been a dry for the past few weeks, so it wasn't a problem, but it looks like that area might be a bit soggy if it has been more rainy. I just guessed where to park our car. There is basically no shade at T-5, so hanging out at the site in the sunny part of the day is not really an option (we went hiking in the woods, anyway). Other tent sites (T-1 and T-4) appear to have nice shade. T-1 is right on the river. We stayed at T-1 a couple years ago and the kids played in the river. Jackman is a cool town. I love the waterfalls and hiking around the area! I definitely hope to get back to the area sometime.

Seasonal campers are extremely loud and rude to overnight guests. Dogs barking constantly, including the owners dog. Dogs running all over the campground going to the bathroom in other sites. No quiet hours, in fact, no rules at all. You don’t even check in at an office when arriving. We rented site T-1 and had to run a 100’ extension cord and garden hose through another site to our site. The positive, convenient to ATV trails, showers were new, and the river views are great. Overall: Not a great place to relax.

Our site was very nice. Beautiful spot right on the river! Kids in the next site were catching fish right off the shore. Really nice bathrooms and showers. The office wasn’t open when we went. Showers take quarters and no place to get change.

Campground Response

There are signs directly in front of you when you walk in the bathroom, in mens and women's as to the location of the change machine. There is also a sign on the door to the office stating this as well. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Beautiful spot. There was an old tire in the river in front of our campsite though, so you might want to remove that to make the view nicer. Quiet, peaceful, nice bathrooms. I would stay there again. Great view of the stars at night.

entrance apron off street needs repair (giant pot holes). Mostly seasonal campers. Our neighbors yappy dog woke us up at 5 AM. Cable didn't work, owner, over the phone, said it was my equipment (without testing). My equipment worked fine at the location we camped before and after. Way over priced for this "no frills" campground.

Campground Response

The road repair is the towns property not ours and since has been repaired by the town. Yes we are a dog friendly campground and dogs tend to bark but we try and keep control of it best we can. We did test multiple options with you to get the cable to work but we couldn't get it to work in your RV and vesides that you are better off streaming because Jackman has about 10 cable channels anyway and our internet is top knotch fiber optic. As for pricing you rented a double RV site as a single RV so yes those are more expensive but the sites are 5000+ sf. Instead of 1500 sf. Which is a single rv site size. It was all advertised during your booking.

We stayed for the the week of June10, 2024 to June 17, 2024. This campground was great! The views were amazing, easy to access, and new clean facilities. They offer cabins or camping. Reaervations were easy to make and the website was easy to navigate. There is a boat ramp, fishing access, and stores are in walking distance. If you have UTVs, ATVs, or boats, there is plenty of room for those to be parked. Now a few things that kept the camp from 5 stars. 1st, you have to pay for the showers, so bring quarters. I understand why they have it set up this way. 2nd, if it rains, be ready for some mud. The roads and campsites are gravel/shale and need some added but it's not horrible. It does look like they are working on adding some gravel. The only bad thing for us was a group of seasonal campers arrived on Thursday and liked to party. They were loud and did not follow the quite time from 10p to 5a. Those campers were loud until about 2a. I can't hold the campgrounds responsible for those campers actions but it did play a factor. Over all this is a great camp and we will camp there again.

Such a relaxing 3 days! We stayed in the beautiful cabins there and they were absolutely perfect! I have never seen better cabins on any campground in Maine. The new bath house was equally beautiful! Thank you James Welch for the wonderful get away and Jennie for the great service and cleanliness of the place.

We arrived and there was no where to check in. There wasn't a sign saying here is the office or what to do if no one is around. Thankfully, I knew from the registration process which site I had. I would not rate this as a very friendly camp ground. If it hadn't been for the electric and water hook up, I would have been better off to have just stayed in a field or parking lot somewhere.

Campground Response

Theres a sign that that says office as you pull in the entrance and a big sign that says office above the office door. We are a self check-in campground with numbered sites and a map that gets you right to your site. Glad you figured it out and I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. There are plenty of fields and parking lots to choose from for your next camping trip.
