DO NOT STAY HERE...MAJOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS! I've given many reviews and this will be the first negative one i have ever posted. We are a Full-Time, retired couple and we travel alone, without pets. We have a 35ft, 30 amp travel trailer + extended cab pickup. In all fairness, this COULD be a nice campground...thus i am giving this place 2 stars instead of 1. It has some good things going for it. 2 nice swimming pools, a few easy acess pull-in spots for short term campers, (sites are not nearly level) grounds are well maintained, it's in a quiet location, (although the roosters will wake you up each morning) there is a sign saying they have music on the weekend and the owners were friendly and attentive. Most of the sites are permanent campers. HOWEVER...and this is BIG...the electric hook-up is TERRIBLE. When we first arrived we detected 104 voltage and went over to the office to see if we could possibly switch sites. Mind you, we were already set up, so we would have had to unhook sewer, water and rehitch up to the truck...major pain in the butt. We were told there were no other full hook-up sites...which was a lie....there were 4 or 5 others right next to us and only 2 were ever occupied at the same time we were there. Out of curiosity, we checked the voltage at those sites and they were reading the same as ours, so it would have been pointless to move. The owner did come and look at the power pedestal, switch some breakers around and was able to achieve 113 volts WITH NO LOAD. We plugged in and cautiously ran our AC ONLY, (hoping we didn't ruin it) and ran our fridge off of propane and cooked with propane. The only other electric we used was a small table fan in the bedroom. The next day we did some sightseeing and when we got back, noticed that the electricity had been off. I'm assuming our surge protector kicked in. Our surge protecter shuts off when it detects low voltage situations. Our last day, we couldn't run the AC at all. The surge protecter kicked everything off because it was reading 97 volts. Now we were out of patience. We went and found the owner, who again switched some breakers around and was able to achieve 112-113 volts again WITH NO LOAD, so the AC and our little fan ran overnight. I want to stress here that the owner was trying to do what he could to fix the problem and we were not being ugly. He offered to refund some of our camping fee....$40 per night. As we were preparing leave the next morning, the owner was very nice, wished us well and handed us $20...that will probably cover the cost of the propane we used.

Family Affair is the best thing our family has ever done. Everyone is so happy there. Owners are great, you become a part of their family. Fun things going on all the time. Music, bingo, swimming and allot more.
