Grass Sites (water/electric)

Our grassy sites are in demand during the summer months by the smaller RVs (these are shorter sites and will NOT accomodate Class A's or 5th Wheels). In order to keep our grassy sites looking good they require a lot of love. That means if your stay exceeds 3-4 days in a site, we may need to coordinate moving you to another site in order to perform routine maintenance (mowing/watering). Usually, our guests will use the free dump station and will relocate as to only move once. Either way, we do our best to work with our guests to coordinate if necessary. Thanks for understanding.

Nice campground with nice views. Quiet and relaxing. Would stay here again. There are grass sites that could be used for tent camping which I did

We had a great stay at Elk Bend. The owners graciously allowed us to come in early due to the fires. The site had great shade. Quiet nights. Easy access to Gold Bug springs and Salmon. We will definitely be back!

Nice place, some very shady sites, quiet at night.

Convenient location, friendly owner. Sites are close together with just one male and one very small female single toilet and shower for the campground. Sites are grass. Adequate for a one night stay.

We arrived at Elk Bend RV Resort on August 8th and was greeted by Stewart. Stewart was very friendly. Our original site was too tight for our coach and at our request, Stewart moved us to another site without hesitation. Stewart even told us he would trim tree branches to accommodate our coach. That was amazing. We elected to stay in the new spot and were extremely happy. Stewart provided a lot of information about the area, including dinner at the Dusty Mule (which was great) and local attractions. The next day we took him up on his recommendation to hike into Goldbug Hot Springs and were not disappointed. The facilities were extremely clean for being a smaller RV park. The laundry room was very nice to have to save a trip into Salmon. We were extremely happy with our stay and would recommend this park to others. We plan on staying there again if we head to Salmon, ID. 5 Stars!!!

We enjoyed our stay. We planned for just a short stay and a quick visit to Goldbug Springs. The RV park was less than a mile to the trailhead and very convenient. We did enjoy a meal and a beer at the “Dusty Mule” across the street. We recommend the food and the beverage. Locally raised beef served. Our campsite was a pull through and was easy to get in and out.

Park is excellently maintained. 50/30 amp full hookups. All pull-through sites which are easy to navigate. Beautiful shade trees at all sites. Location is superb for experiencing rural Idaho mountains. Campground located next to the Salmon River with river access and local restaurant across the street. The city of Salmon, ID is 20 minutes north with everything you’d need. Goldbug Hot Springs is quite literally just behind the campground. Be forewarned- it is a tough hike. Bring LOTS of water as the entire hike is exposed to the sun and wind. Another great detail about this campground is it being enveloped by vast public lands with excellent access. BLM and Forest Service land is about 95% of what’s around. Yes- there are bears! We saw some in the mountains around the campground. A Forest Service employee also confirmed this saying trail cams show grizzlies in the area. ALWAYS HAVE BEAR SPRAY WHEN OUT IN THE PUBLIC LAND! The campground has very specific rules and policies which it enforces. Example: hang nothing from the shade trees. Large shade trees are hard to come by in the area, so the campground is protective of them (their trees really make the campground too!) FOLLOW ALL CAMPGROUND RULES/POLICIES AS OWNER IS ON SITE AND WILL KNOCK ON YOUR DOOR. We will definitely come back to this campground if we are in this part of Idaho again.

Perfect spot for the Goldbug Hot Springs and Salmon River Kayaking. Stewart was a wealth of information. We stayed three nights and hiked to the Goldbug Hot Spring twice, rented kayaks at Idaho Adventures and Jaz was so accommodating with kayak rental. We floated down the Salmon River taking Stewart’s recommendation and put in 4 miles up river at Kilpatrick River Access and got out at Elk Bend right where the campground is. About a two mile beautiful float where we saw bald eagles. Ate a delicious, affordable dinner at the Dusty Mule across the street from campground. We also checked out Dick’s Dugout which was interesting. Great three nights here!

Small campground but sites are large, gravel and level. Roads easy to navigate. Very quiet campground nestled between foothills and the Salmon River. Host was very helpful and provided community fire and smores!

This is the kind of park we like when we’re riding ATVs. Really nice host with a great Lego collection. Clean and well kept. As we get up, go ride for the day, come back, clean up, eat, and sleep, this park suited us well. Lower cost since there are no extra amenities that we don’t use, pool, game areas, etc. Close enough to run into Salmon for necessities. Recommend it and will stay again if in the area.

Beautiful small campground with awesome scenery and close to the river weather ramp and an awesome restaurant across the street from the campground called the dusty mule.

Looks great in the photos, but we were under the impression that the park is on the river, which it isn’t; it’s across the highway. Also, the other reviews were spot on, the host / owner is rude and difficult. We got a flat tire and ended up arriving late. He met us at the gate and immediately yelled at us for arriving late and said it would be a $50 fee to open the gate. We said that was fine, we would pay the fee and he continued to yell at us. When I asked why he was so upset and yelling at us, he said we “were being combative” and he refused to let us in at all. He said he would open the gate at 10:00 AM the following morning. No explanation and certainly no refund of our first night, which we pre-paid for. The rest of our stay was uncomfortable to say the least, as we were afraid we’d upset him again and end up getting kicked out. I would never stay here again and would definitely recommend staying anywhere else!

Campground Response

I am sorry for this but... I was not the one combative and a simple phone call could of prevented everything. Things happen on the road but you can not expect me to remain open around the clock and let you interrupt other guests that late at night without prior notice. I said this to you and one of your party and they gave me attitude for it. I then walked away and you only came in when I left for the dump the next day at 8:30am. Check in times are from 2 - 7 pm. I gave you that and way late check out. I did not have any other contact with you during your stay.
