Big Rock Creek is a 980 acre estate so this map just shows the campground area and the area around the campground. The Clubhouse, Family Cabin and Elroys are cabins rented out to guests. The Barn is a public space unless we have a private event happening.

St. Croix Falls Wisconsin is just across the river from Taylors Falls, MN and about 45 minutes from Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. If you've been to the area before you know the St. Croix river is an amazing attraction to the area and brings people back! The landscape and topography at Big Rock Creek in St. Croix Falls is amazing! Big Beautiful bluffs and 200 year old White Oak trees litter the property and the St. Croix river area! Not to mention all of the amazing lakes in the area such as Balsam Lake, Wappogassett, Turtle Lake, Deer Lake and many, many more!

Very nice campground. The lights were great. Plenty of wildlife to see. I was a little perturbed that there was no dump station for our RV. It didn't say this on the web site. I saw it after I reviewed my email confirmation. Overall nice people and plave.

I want to say that your grounds are beautiful and a great idea for a family stay. However, your website is quite deceiving. There was no mention on the website or anywhere in the booking paperwork that the bathroom facilities provided were a porta potty. Paying the amount of money we did- we expected a more permanent, clean bathroom facility with running water. It wasn’t until we arrived that we were informed that it would be a porta potty we would be using all weekend. We made the trek up to the barn to use the bathroom there and to be able to wash out hands only to find the floor to be covered in mud and no paper towels or toilet paper. As far as the firewood, again if we are paying over $700 for a weekend the firewood should be included in the cost of the tent rental. Having to pay extra for pretty much everything on your grounds (including firewood) was ridiculous and we decided to just forgo any extra activities due to the expensive price. We went for a relaxing family weekend, getting to see the Christmas lights everywhere at night was nice- however it was loud and intrusive during the day. The entire evening on Friday and the entire day on Saturday there was a crew of men working right outside our ten with a lift hanging lights. We were parked on the side of the tent and they were right next to our car. Listening to the lift going up and down all day along with the ATVs driving back and forth in front of the tent causing dust to fly up each time was not exactly relaxing. We felt this was quite rude honestly. I am not sure why this work needed to be done during the weekend when you had guests using the tent. We ended up leaving for the last part of the day because of the noise right next to the tent and the constant traffic of workers coming and going. I understand a cleaning charge as you have to wash linens, etc. But to be quite honest, the tent was not exactly clean when we arrived. There were stains all over the couch, leaves and pine needles all over the flooring inside the tent, it appeared it hadn’t been swept or cleaned. The coffee maker had built up grime and grounds left in it. There were no garbage bags to use in the bins. It wasn’t exactly clean and presentable.

What a wonderful stay we had. Some of the millions of Christmas lights were on just beautiful. The owners and the workers were very nice and helpful. Would absolutely stay again!

Grounds are beautiful. The trail is a wonderful experience. We arrived on Thursday evening and there was nobody around to do check in. Nobody answered the phone when I called. Finally, the young man mowing helped us. He was very polite. You need to have better communication with campers and a way for us to get in touch with someone when we have questions. No dump station is a major drawback! Where do we put our trash? We had no idea. We rented a golf cart and it was not well cared for. Couldn’t make it up the hill to the campground with 4 of us on it. For the price you charge it should be top notch equipment. We did have the pleasure of seeing some of the Christmas lights on at night which was beautiful. Overall, it was a fun weekend and we’ll likely come back once there are more processes and a dump station in place.

Absolutely a great place to go, it’s beautiful and can’t wait to go again in the winter. Now for the bad, I would not camp there again, for those that need to use a bath house, the temporary shower house is terrible. I’m hoping they invest in the future in a nice permanent shower house. Which would fit the rest of the property.

We stayed at the campground in our 5th wheel for 3.5 days. Such a pretty place, but campground was very uneven and hard to walk around the sites; would recommend bringing in dirt and leveling them out. Pretty views and we biked around; need to be prepared for rough bike trails but was fun. Would be fun to bring small children to enjoy the beach, animals, etc. Lots of mosquitos; we are used to campgrounds that spray, but we handled it. Staff was very nice and kind; I'm assuming August is their slow month. We will try make the trip again now that we have seen the area. Would recommend to others.

Nice location. But be aware that if camping there is a big hill to walk up. Very far from the lake. Not much for the kids to do. Must fly fish with no live bait or barbed flies. Got Permission for my grandson to fish but then got questioned by others. Also be aware that there are events going on with other people who are not there to camp and it could be loud.

Campground Response

Hi Vickie! Your right the campground is about 500 feet from the campground and there is a small hill. We do not allow anything other than fly fishing in order to protect the trout as they are very sensitive to barbed hooks:) This is all thoroughly posted on our website and we have signs around the grounds to make sure everyone is aware of the fishing policies:) If someone gave you permission you have to expect that those that are aware of our policies may question that as they are just doing there job. Thanks again for staying with us!

Had a very pleasant stay at Big Rock Creek, and we are excited to see how they grow into their property in coming years! Enjoyed the well-groomed trails and bar + music on Friday night, and we'll definitely be back. Property is HUGE with lots of lodging and camping options. They have a somewhat unique business model, as they are simultaneously an event (weddings) venue, so weekends can be busy, but the place is so big there is room for all without feeling invaded. Campground showers were somewhat in disarray (screen had holes, water pressure and control not great), but despite these being pretty important to campers, I wouldn't hold it against them in the long term, as they got the job done, and these appeared to be temporary buildings as they develop the property.

Big Rock Creek is a perfect outdoor family vacation. From glamping tents, bike rides, kayaking, and more! It is a great option for those that like to spend time outdoors, and have adventures ready to go without much work. We loved the Friday event and can not say enough about the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Our youngest attended the day camp and had a blast. Amber did a fabulous job planning a full day of fun!

The place is amazing, but they need to take a look cleaning up around the camp sites someone must have left some drugs in the grass and our dog got into it had to spend the day in a emergency vet not cheap.

My family and myself stayed at Big rock creek for a week. Very clean, staff is amazing, friendly, and helpful. This place is so magical. We enjoyed finding out about the rich history on this property. We took rides on the trails, and listened to the creek, birds singing, and watching the wild life as it passed by so closely. We will definitely be staying here a ton. If you are a avid outdoors man or women this is the place for you. Big rock creek is a place that is full of adventure, fun, and peace. It has a family oriented atmosphere. This is a slice of heaven on earth. A must check out place.

We had such an incredible time staying at big rock creek this past weekend! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We toured the wedding venue and it is breathtaking! Our kids had a blast with cow yoga and playing on the playgrounds and in the lake! They have done so well dealing with mosquitoes we only encountered a couple the whole weekend!!! We absolutely loved the sauna and cold plunge! 10/10 recommend this place and we will absolutely be back!!!
