A creek to play in & trails to take a peaceful walk & listen to birds sing & enjoy Gods nature & beauty. I cant say enough positive things about Big Creek. You just have to come & visit. This was our second trip this year. We came to see the Union Pacific steam engine 4014 Big Boy on its 23 state tour. Almost the entire campground went down to the creek to watch history go by. There is so much to see and do here, or a short drive to other attractions. The staff is amazing and all the farm animals are so fun to see and feed.

We stayed at this park in early Sep. 2024. The park is clean, well maintained, and has easy access to the sites. The owner, Laura, was very friendly and accommodating to our group of 18. There is a large area where you can walk the dogs and a nice trail that follows along the river.

Very nice campground, nice grounds & clean restroom/shower house (with A/C). Pool is very tiny. We didn't mind the traffic noise, or the train going by, but some might. We would return and recommend.

Just left Big Creek RV Park in Annapolis, MO. This is a great park with a small swimming pool, camp store, propane, peddle carts, gem mining, playground and a petting zoo. The park is really well maintained and the staff is very friendly. The sites are large and well spaced with full hookups. There is a creek that runs the back side of the park that you can sit in with your lawn chairs and/or let the kids play in. Very shallow this time of year. They even do rubber ducky races on the weekends. They also have a small coffee shop they open up on the weekends. They sell farm fresh eggs in the camp store! There is a train track on the other side of the creek and trains do come through once in the evening around 10:30 and once in the morning around 7ish. I think it is Amtrack. You can here and feel the rumble but they are very short and quick and do not blow the whistle. Did not bother us at all. The best thing we liked is the close proximity to Johnson Shutins SP, Taum Sauk Mountain SP and Elephant Rocks SP. All worth a visit. We really enjoyed playing and floating in the shutins. There is also kayaking on the Black River. We enjoyed some live music 5 miles down the road at Black River Wine House on Saturday night. We camped at Big Creek in a motorhome and would definitely return. Check them out if you are ever in the area.

Campground Response

Hi Shari, We are so glad to hear that your stay with us was a good experience. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us not just 5 stars review but a great description of why you gave us a 5 star. Descriptive reviews allow other campers to see why this place is worth trying out. We are also glad to hear that you enjoyed what the area has to offer with State Parks, live music, floating down the Black River and so much more. We hope your travels will bring you back this way and that you will stay with us again. Thank you again for choosing BCRV Park for your camping adventure. Dave & Laura -owners.

This was one of our best stays we've had in Missouri and easily the best in the area. Has everything our family looks for in a RV stay. Spacious lots, shaded and flat, full hook ups, impressively clean shower houses/restrooms, on site activities for the younger kids, and several state parks within reasonably driving distances for middle aged kids. One of the few places our kids have asked to stay at again as we were leaving. Had multiple interactions with the park owners and they were very accommodating. You can tell they love running a RV park. We are already planning our next stay there.

Campground Response

Hi Damian, What an awesome compliment about our park. The one that gets us is the part when you say: "One of the few places our kids have asked to stay at again as we were leaving." This is what we love to hear, the kids asking their parents if they can come back to Big Creek RV Park. Thank you for this review and for sharing about the kids. Their opinion is so worth all the hard work we put in this park. It was great to have your family camp with us and we are thrilled to hear you will be back. Dave & Laura -owners.

My family had the absolute best time this weekend. First time at this campground and is by far one of my favorite campgrounds. Super kid friendly, they offer crafts for the kids, have a petting zoo with a good variety of animals goats, lambs, chickens, rabbits, turkeys, and a cow name Sir Loin. Swimming pool, fishing pond, a creek to wade through with a swimming hole. They offered duck races down the creek 1 person from our group took 1st place. Facilities/shower houses were spotless no matter the time of day you went into them. Cute little coffee shop to get some iced coffees, frappes, or just a good ole cup of java. Not too far of a drive to Johnson Shut ins or Elephant Rock. We will for sure be returning, at least 1-2 times a year in the upcoming years. Thank you for a wonderful memory filled weekend.

Campground Response

Hello William, what a fun weekend it was. We are grateful for all of our campers as they bring Big Creek RV Park alive. We love seeing families gathering around a good old fire at night, wading in the creek, swimming in the pool, walking the trails, enjoying the activities and leaving refreshed and ready for the "real world" :) Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us not just a 5 stars review but a great description of why you felt that your experience was a 5 star one. We enjoyed having your group camp with us and are glad to hear that you will be coming back. The Duck Race is an icon at Big Creek RV Park, and it was neat to see the big smile on the first prize winner's face. Hope to see again soon. Dave & Laura - owners

Bath house was very nice, park was spacious and clean. Attendant was friendly for the most part but very strict and a little intense with the rules, almost rude and off-putting at times.

Campground Response

Hi Mary, thank you for your review and for choosing Big Creek RV Park for your camping adventure. Rules are important and necessary and we take the safety and well being of our guests very seriously. One of our least favorite thing to do is to enforce rules but it is necessary to do so to ensure that all of our guests get to enjoy their stay. Thank you again for camping with us. We had a very good stay at Big Creek Campground. Owners were very accommodating as we were supposed to have 4 RV's & 4 tents. However there were unfortunate circumstances & at the last minute 2 RV's did not make it to the campground. The owners allowed us to put all 4 tents on the sites without the RV. Rules are 1 RV 1 tent etc. we very much appreciated that. They understood we were 1 group all floating together. We having going to this campground for last 5 yrs as a group. We will definitely stay there again.

Campground Response

Hi Allen, thank you for coming to Big Creek RV Park. We are so glad that you make Big Creek RV Park your yearly destination for your family gathering. We were more than happy to accommodate all of you and hope that your family member is doing better and that the one RV was fixed. Your group was very respectful, fun and we enjoyed having you here. We are looking forward to your next visit. Thank you for your review and thank you for camping with us. Dave & Laura -owners.

It was a great stay as always. We stay here 3-4 times a year. This trip we had our grandson with us and there was plenty of things for him to do. He fed the farm animals, caught crawdads in the creek, swam in the pool, participated in the rubber duck races, got to make crafts, and so much more. It's a great park for kids. It's also a great place for just adults to relax as well. The owners work hard at making this one of the gems of the area. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

Campground Response

Hi Rick, it is always a pleasure to have you and your family come and camp with us. It was so much fun to see your daughter and grand son have a blast and participate in all activities as well as make our animals so happy by feeding them daily. Genesis our female lamb and Julia our baby goat were soooooo thankful and enjoyed having a full belly, they do miss them. We always look forward to your visit and are glad that you are a part of Big Creek RV Park's fan. See you soon, Dave & Laura -owners.
