Adolph Thomae Jr. County Park is located in the beautiful town of Rio Hondo, Texas and is a great place for a fun, southern vacation. Campers can look forward to the beautiful country setting, and plenty of fresh air, open spaces for nature walking and clear skies for sunset viewing and stargazing. There's also a nearby salt water bays perfect for fishing, the shores of South Padres Island for beach front adventures, the Texas Air Museum and the Laguna Atacosa Wildlife Area. Visitors can also enjoy the nearby cities of Brownsville, Harlingen and the Rio Grande Valley, and all that those towns have to offer. There's certainly no shortage of excellent gift and specialty shops, bars and craft eateries for visitors and locals alike to take advantage of.
