Safe, off the highway enough not to be dealing with traffic noise but close enough to be convenient.we stayed several nights in mid-April and then again in late June 2014 while traveling through by Class A 40 ft with toad from Atlanta to Boulder, CO. we wanted some place close enough to St. Louis to allow for us to go into town and explore and see the Arch (and other things) but not be in staying in the thick of it. this fit the bill perfectly. full hookups with 30 and 50 amps available. be sure to USED a water pressure regulator and check pressure before hooking into you rig as the pressure here was very very HIGH (we were glad we always check first). sites are relatively level 'gravel' that is actually ground up asphalt. nice grassy spaces between the sites. picnic tables and new fire rings at each site along with a concrete pad. NOTE: there ARE 2 handicapped sites available with full concrete for a rig and both the picnic table and fire ring are on that same concrete pad. really nicest set up i've seen for a handicapped site! park has lots to do if you want it. walking trails, picnic tables/pavilions, an archery range, boat launch on it's small lake, canoe/kayak/paddle-peddle boat rentals, fishing is allowed and the lake is supposed to be stocked, biking and bike rentals. appears to have a food vendor in the summer months. NO SWIMMING is allowed in the lake and there is no pool on site. pull through site for a big motorcoach was $40 per night, premium sites at the lake were $45. back in sites were $35. bath houses are private and clean. wifi is available and depending upon where you are camped the signal is good. there is a limit on stays of 2 weeks of consecutive nights and a limit of 60 days per calendar year the negative for us was that they asked for a TON of information when taking the reservation and then even more when we arrived. this was gathered on the pretext of their having a security guard who patrols the park at night...nice thought but there was a ton of non-camping traffic running through the camping portion of the park during all the daylight hours so i'm not sure there really is that much guarding and patrol. additionally our last night there was thursday and it appears that locals come in to enjoy long weekends. that's a great thing - unless it's a bunch of wild guys gunning motors and racing their pickup trucks through the camping area...which we experienced with one group... we'd stay here again if travel brings us to the area - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
